Trying to find the right golf coach for you isn’t always easy, but we were lucky to stumble upon a great golf coach when we went for a golf lesson in Surrey last week.

We spend a lot of time in the office working long hours and decided to down tools for the afternoon and look up a golf teacher online. We are based in Surrey and are keen golfers but the weather at the moment has been so bad that we just can’t find the time to get out after work as it’s so cold!

So this was it, the sun was out, all the work was done for the day, now we just had to find as golf teacher in Surrey, so we googled ‘golf lessons In Surrey’ and found a site called http://www.golflessons-surrey.co.uk which seemed to be the obvious choice as he was based just down the road from us.

We phoned up Rob Jones who answered the phone promptly, and managed to sort out a time for a golf lesson that afternoon which was great!

The two of us that worked in the office shared a two hour golf lesson covering all aspects of the game, and by the end we could both say that all areas of our game had improved dramatically in the time that we had spent with Rob. He was very thorough and explained things very clearly so that we could understand exactly what he was saying.

We would thoroughly recommend Rob to anyone thinking of starting up golf or for a golfer who is looking to reduce their handicap dramatically.

Why not contact Rob here and I’m sure you will enjoy your golf lessons as much as we did!

Britain’s Luke Donald clinched the PGA Tour money list title with victory at the Disney Classic in Florida. The world number one played a magnificent back nine which included six birdies on the way to a 64.

Donald’s chances looked far from certain with a bogey six on the eighth but his round came alive on the back nine. Playing partner and PGA money list rival Webb Simpson finished the tournament four shots behind Donald.

The triumph means Englishman Donald is on course to become the first player to top the money lists in both the United States and Europe.

In Europe the 33-year-old leads by over £1m, but there are eight events left and he will be missing some because his wife Diane is expecting their second child in the next fortnight.

Donald had to win the Florida tournament or finish second to top the money list. It did not look a certainty with eight holes to play as Donald, Simpson, Billy Mayfair and Justin Leonard trailed 15-under-par tournament leader Kevin Chappell by one stroke.

Golf Social Media is not a fad – it is most definitely here to stay.

An example of this is that Facebook is now bigger than Google, and at the rate it is currently growing it will soon become the standard method of logging into sites across the entire internet.

On this basis businesses will have very little choice but to embrace Social Media in one way or another in the near future; ultimately it’s a choice of whether you want to be a front-runner and adopt it now, or be catching up with your rivals later.

The four platforms listed above are incredible ways to engage and interact with your clients and customers. These people are talking constantly about services that your company provides – and they may even be talking about your specific business.

You need to know about this Golf Social Media – and you need to embrace it.

For example, if you’ve unintentionally done something to upset a customer, you may never get the chance to hear about it and may never see the customer again.

Using Social Media effectively, you’ll not only find out about the issue, but can take immediate steps to publicly resolve it – protecting and actually enhancing your repuation and encouraging your customer to return.

How good does that sound…?

Have we got your attention? We hope so!

Timeline is a redesign of the user profile and wall that Facebook revealed in September 2011. While it only appears on user profiles and not Pages, there are still many ways that marketers can use Timeline to advance their business. Here we’ll provide four strategies for using the Timeline’s Cover, featured apps, list of your posted content, and About section to bring traffic and awareness to your Facebook Page and website.

As of October 6th, Timeline is only available to Facebook application developers, but it is scheduled to be rolled out to all users in the following weeks. For a breakdown of all of Timeline’s features and instructions for gaining early access to it, check out the Inside Facebook article “How to Use the Facebook Timeline: A Complete Walk-Through of the Redesigned Profile“. Note that until the full rollout of the feature, only other developers with access will be able to see your Timeline.

Northern Ireland’s Michael Hoey birdied three of the last four holes to win the biggest title of his career and condemn Rory McIlroy to a frustrating runner-up finish at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship at St Andrews Yesterday.

In a round that began in heavy persistent rain, Hoey, 32, squandered his three stroke overnight lead playing the first seven holes of the final round in one over par.

But the former amateur champion regrouped to eclipse McIlroy who failed to capitalise on a brilliant outward half. Mcilroy looked like a man on a mission chasing down Hoey but just faulted on the back nine.

Hoey also prevailed over another major winner from Northern Ireland, Graeme McDowell.

The 2010 US Open champion had to settle for a three-under-par 69 to finish alongside Scotland’s George Murray in a share of third, four shots behind the winner.

After beginning the tournament with three consecutive rounds of 66, Hoey carded a 68 to finish at a record breaking 22 under par.

A great event on some real challenging golf courses, and even in the wind and the rain these guys just keep producing golf of the highest quality.

Facebook: Do I Need A Friend Profile Or Business Page?

Something seen increasingly regularly are businesses setting up on Facebook, but using a ‘Friend Profile’ rather than a ‘Business Page’ or ‘Fan Page’ to do so.

There are a number of reasons why setting up an official ‘Business Page’ will benefit your business and here they are!

1) Setting up your business as a ‘Friend Profile’ actually violates Facebook’s terms and conditions. They only want actual ‘people’ setting up these profiles and can close down anything that they don’t think is right without any warning! I’ve actually seen this happen to a band who lost 5000 friends in the process and had to start again – getting it right from the very start is vitally important.

2) And anyway – if you set up your business as a ‘Friend Profile’ it just doesn’t look right. You have to assign a gender to your business for example! And give it a ‘Date Of Birth’. You also have no access to the perks that make Business Pages so successful on Facebook…

3) For example on a Business Page you can create bespoke landing tabs – so that when your customers or potential customers find you they can see your latest offer immediately on arriving.

4) You can create listings such as information, history, opening hours – even a map of where your business is located.

5) Using this map, you can encourage visitors to ‘Check-In’ on Facebook – when they do so, this information is displayed on the news feeds of their friends, giving your business a huge amount of exposure in the process.

People say ‘how do we measure return of investment with using Golf Club Social Media?‘, we say ‘you will still have a business in 5 years!’

I’ve always been a fan of Sergio Garcia ever since he emerged onto the golf scene, what I love most about him is the energy he puts into every shot and this swing video below show just how he manages to get such distance. How he manages to break his wrists so late is just amazing to me, and something im going to practice down the range!! He went through a spell of taking so long over shots, he stood over the ball constantly re-gripping the club trying to find the right pressure points, but now he seems like he’s getting some form back after falling out of love with the game of golf for a while. I hope that one day he will win a major, he deserves to and lets hope he doesn’t carry the tag like so many great players that have never won a major.

In its 5-year existence, the PGA Tour’s Fall Series has been likened to playing baseball games after the World Series. The tournaments attract little interest outside of those playing in them, few of the big names in the sport, if any, take part. That will change in a big way come October when former No. 1 Tiger Woods tees it up at the Frys.com Open outside of San Jose, Calif, a Fall Series event that suddenly found itself in the limelight Monday.

Tiger announced the stunning move on his website, making the decision to play one of the events following the Tour Championship for the first time since the PGA Tour’s schedule was set up in this fashion starting in 2007.

Aside from the AT&T National, which he hosts (of which the profits go to the Tiger Woods foundation), this is the first time Tiger is adding a tournament he has never played in since 2004, when he headed to the Wachovia Championship.

Interesting and worrying times in the world of Tiger Woods, but I have to say I think this move will gain Woods a lot of respect among his peers. He realises that you only get out what you put in when you’re struggling for form, even though it may dent his pride a little, I think he will come up smelling of roses because of it.

And lets face it, we all enjoy watching the game of golf so much more when Tiger is at the top of the leaderboard.
